Airfix 1/72 Brewster Buffalo # 02050V
The Brewster Buffalo was an American fighter aircraft that saw extensive service during World War II.
It was designed and manufactured by the Brewster Aeronautical Corporation and first flew in 1937.
The Buffalo was developed for the US Navy, but was also exported to several other countries, including Great Britain, the Netherlands, and Finland.
The aircraft was powered by a Wright R-1820 Cyclone radial engine and had a top speed of around 315 mph (507 km/h).
It was armed with a mix of machine guns and cannon, making it a formidable fighter in the early stages of the war.
Despite its early successes, the Buffalo was ultimately outmatched by more advanced Japanese and German fighters.
Its poor performance at high altitudes and lack of maneuverability earned it a reputation as a "flying coffin" among some pilots.
Nevertheless, the Buffalo played an important role in the early stages of the war and helped to pave the way for more advanced American fighters, such as the Grumman F4F Wildcat and the Vought F4U Corsair.
